Erin P. Vestal is the Managing Member of Keohane & D’Alessandro, PLLC. Having joined the KD team in March, 2013, Ms. Vestal’s primary focus is the day-to-day business management of all Firm matters.

Ms. Vestal is also the founding member of Vestal Law, PLLC, a full-service Real Property Law Firm, founded in 2008.

HUNTER E. WEBB, ESQ.

PARTNER

Hunter Webb is a Partner at Keohane & D’Alessandro, PLLC. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Webb was a Member at Hoffman Warnick, PLLC in Albany, New York. Mr. Webb’s practice is currently focused on patent preparation and prosecution. Technology areas of expertise include software and computer-implemented inventions, cloud computing technology, microelectronics and hardware, and mechanical technologies.

Mr. Webb’s technical experience includes previous employment with Texas Instruments, Inc., as a business programmer/analyst, where he twice won awards for technological improvement of the quarter, and an internship with DSC Communications (now Alcatel-Lucent). Hunter also interned with Texas Supreme Court Justice Raul Gonzales while in law school.

Mr. Webb is licensed to practice in front of the United States Patent and Trademark Office; in the states of Texas and Massachusetts; and in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas. Currently, he serves on the Board of the Eastern New York Intellectual Property Law Association (ENYIPLA).

MICHAEL KAHN

PATENT AGENT

Michael Kahn focuses his practice on patent preparation and prosecution in electronics, computer systems and methods, and software applications.

Mr. Kahn has industry experience in a variety of industries, including defense, robotics, and networked multimedia applications. He has been a patent agent since 2003. He is also an FAA licensed pilot.

GLEN O. MCPHERSON, ESQ.

Glen McPherson focuses his practice on patent preparation and prosecution in computer systems and methods, as well as software applications.

Mr. McPherson comes to Keohane & D’Alessandro from Baker & Daniels in Indianapolis, IN, where he was a contract attorney. He previously served as a volunteer law clerk for the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic and as a systems consultant for American United Life Insurance Co., both in Indianapolis, IN.

MADELINE F. SCHIESSER, ESQ.

ATTORNEY

Madeline Schiesser practices both intellectual and real property law. Her intellectual property practice is focused on patent and trademark preparation and prosecution. Ms. Schiesser’s real property practice includes both residential and commercial bank settlement and private representation, in addition to title searching.

Prior to joining Keohane & D’Alessandro, PLLC, Ms. Schiesser was a Special Projects Consultant with the New York State Science and Technology Law Center at Syracuse University College of Law. During this time, Ms. Schiesser focused on Technology Commercialization Law and published a paper on the Hatch-Waxman Act in the Syracuse Journal of Science and Technology Law.

Ms. Schiesser is licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, in the State of New York, and in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

WILLIAM E. SCHIESSER

OF COUNSEL

William E. Schiesser is of counsel to Keohane & D’Alessandro, PLLC.  Prior to joining the firm, he was a Consulting Patent Agent and Patent Portfolio Manager at the IBM Corporation.  He has deep expertise in patent strategy, invention mining and working with inventors to develop their inventions, filing and prosecuting patent cases in the United States as well as international cases under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) and Paris Convention, and patent lifecycle and portfolio management.

Mr. Schiesser is admitted to practice in patent cases before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.  He is also an Engineering Lecturer at Binghamton University where he teaches engineering and communication skills to first-year students, and patent law to senior engineering students.  His research interests include hardening computing infrastructure against cyber-attacks by minimizing and protecting attack surfaces, as well as abstraction and virtualization of computing resources, such as Cloud and Edge Computing.
